Here is our entrance, although I didn't get the chandelier Ellen selected into the shot. This does illustrate one thing that has genuinely surprised Ellen and I. Over the years, we've purchased things that we thought would work well in our home, if we were ever fortunate to build it. It's a perilous thing to do buy furniture without the house it's intended to adorn. We've been shocked at how well things like that have worked out. The crescent table you see below the mirror is a perfect example. That was actually built by my father long before Ellen even came into my life. Yet, it is a nearly exact fit for that space and is also fulfilling the purpose we had intended when Mom gave it to me long ago.
