I have no career prospects shooting animal pics for National Geographic. This I know, but nevertheless, here are a couple of pea hens (female peacocks) that wandered across our front yard around 6:30 one morning. I regret I didn't get a better photo, but if you take the front half of the one on the left and use your imagination to shmoosh it together with the back half of the one on the right, you'll have a full pea hen to view. They eventually went down the side of the house and into the woods, as if they knew where they were going and what they intended to do once they got there. Considering our lot was once an emu farm, I suppose I shouldn't be so surprised at seeing peacocks, but I am. Our fauna sightings now include deer, fox, coyote, raccoon, and peacocks. Perhaps one of those critters is responsible for the change in our cat Soleil's behavior. If she goes outside at night now, it's only for a very, very brief period. We believe she got into a fight with something, since Ellen noticed tufts of hair loose on her body. Since then, the outside beckons her only when the sun's up.
