Shape of showers to come

The master shower has been formed up. On the right is the frame for a bench. It was originally on the left in the drying area, but that interfered with the size of the entry, which we want to make wheelchair accessible. No, neither of us require a chair and we hope we never do, but that's an implicit design element throughout. Except for two, all the interior doors and hallways are sized that way, and we also have one entry on the outside that we can quickly convert to be handicap accessible, if need be. The frame that spans the width and is angled, is the outline of the glass block shower enclosure. The area on the left is the drying area over which we'll install a heat lamp. You can also make out the ramp which would allow a chair to enter the shower. The glass block enclosure is an example of money trumping modesty. Ellen said the original estimate was based on 'icicle' blocks, which had a pattern that made them, if not opaque, definitely obscuring of a view I'm sure you don't want to contemplate right now. Now that we're ready to build, oh no, the icicle blocks are more. The original estimate was supposedly based on clear blocks. Looking at the difference in price, we opted for clear. No worries, I'll close the door. We did have the foresight to include one of those.
