All hands on deck

The Ipe' decking is installed and they've begun to construct the rail. It's very pleasant to stand and walk in this space. I do believe we and our guests will spend a considerable amount of time on it, weather and mosquitoes permitting. We may be able to dodge some of the weather under the roof extension over the deck, but isn't it amazing that a creature too small to be weighed, too small to be shot and too small to be seen until it's too late can govern our behavior? In the shot of the back of the house, you can see the temporary 2 x 4s have been replaced with Ipe' 4x4 posts. I had wondered if using the slimmer 4 x 4s would look spindly, but I like them better than the 6 x 6s that support exterior timbers. The small L shaped section on the right side will become the entrance for the stairs to the ground level.
