Front porch

Not the best shot of the front porch, but you get the idea. The beams are cedar posts. Interestingly, Riverbend suggested we do this, rather than buy timbers from them, when I started looking to cut costs. I honestly don't know if I regret that or not. On the one hand, seeing the bent on the deck makes me wish that I had used their timbers throughout. It's a truly beautiful thing. On the other, choosing that would have forced us to sacrifice something that I believe we will ultimately value more than curb appeal. I hope this idea turns out to be attractive 'enough.' We'll do our best to make it nice enough for you to smile when you walk up to our front door.
