No pics today. It was too muddy for the crane. It was too muddy for the cement truck to pour our basement slab. Therefore, just Jim and our carpenter finished the subfloor of the loft to prepare for the final assembly of our roof. We should have pictures of the completed form by Thursday, assuming the crane can get onto the site.
We received the mantel from www.timbermantels.com. We're both extremely happy with it. We highly recommend these guys, if anyone's in the mantel market. At the end of the work day we finished our fireplace decisions by visiting Hearth & Home here in Washington, where Jim Ince does most of his business. There was basically only one choice in ventless fireplaces, making it my kind of shopping. Most of the time was spent chatting with the very personable owner and her staff about the excellence of our builder and design options for the stonework. I really like working with sales professionals who know their business. It makes things so much easier. Except for one minor detail on which Ellen and I still disagree, the fireplace decisions are done. I'll probably forget my objection by the time the fireplace is actually built, so from a practical standpoint, I guess you could say it's completely settled. :)
