April Fools?

So how do you like our purple porch? Did we really choose this? Yes, but before you start putting those welcome mats on layaway to help us hide it, the builder and cement contractor were passionate to point out that this is only the 'release' color. It is only going to be there for a day and then is supposed to wash away, appearing only as a subtle accent to the grayish flagstone pattern beneath. I couldn't help but hear the melody of 'Purple Rain' and Prince's weeping guitar play in my head during their passionate explanation. I guess the real question is does a flagstone pattern in stamped concrete look like flagstone? No, but it's a lot more interesting than plain concrete, so we're satisfied. If I were to do it over, I'd look really hard at flagstone, like I did the Ipe' deck, before making a stamped concrete decison. I do sincerely hope the 'release' 'releases' as they say. Otherwise, you may do a drive by, and see me on my hands and knees scrubbing the porch, plumber's crack and all.
