I really have to compliment our carpenter. He's finished building out the front porch. In an earlier post I mentioned how much I liked the bent on the deck and had begun to regret my decision to stick build the front porch, rather than buy the timbers from Riverbend. That was a cost cutting measure suggested by Riverbend. We're extremely pleased with Dave Monzyk and the work he did with the porch. The only direction I gave him was to come up with something that suggested what a visitor will see inside. He duplicated the curved brackets provided by Riverbend, which really gives the porch a timber frame look. We sincerely appreciate his thoughtful attention to detail.
