I've been known to launch into the Scarecrow's song from the Wizard of Oz. I admit it's not pretty, but it's satisfying. We're whiling away the hours waiting for an architect to seal our drawings. We won't be breaking ground next week as we had planned. Maybe we'll be able to start the week after. Ellen wants to stage a photo of the two of us putting a shovel in the ground with a ribbon tied between two of the stumps as a symbolic gesture. Considering this county, we'll probably be fined if we do.
We have spent the time well though. We picked our hardwood floor and the tile for the master bath. The glass samples Mom sent of the window she made helped a great deal. We're moving on to paint colors now. Both Ellen and I have always lived in places that had white walls and neutral carpets. Even the last house I owned was appointed that way because I had always planned to sell it. You will see neither in this home, unless it's as an accent. I hope we don't discover that we have dreadful taste in color. I know a few of you won't be shy to point that out, if that's the case!! :)
